So, I had this summer wedding to go to, and I was the groom. Summer weddings are awesome, but man, they can get hot. I didn’t want to end up a sweaty mess, so I put some thought into what I was going to wear.
First off, I started by thinking about colors. I figured light colors were the way to go. They keep you cooler than dark ones. I looked around at some pictures online and saw a lot of grooms in light grey or tan. That seemed like a good idea.
Fabrics are Important
- I knew I had to pick the right fabric too. Something breathable. I definitely didn’t go for wool.
- I remembered reading somewhere that linen or cotton blends are good for summer, so I checked those out.
- I asked a friend who’s kind of a fashion expert, and he confirmed that linen was a solid choice.
I went to a few stores and tried on some different suits. I found this one light grey linen suit that felt really light and airy. It was perfect! I also picked up a light blue cotton shirt to go with it. I thought about the tie for a while and eventually decided on a simple, patterned one that matched the colors without being too flashy.
For shoes, I went with some brown leather loafers. I made sure they were comfortable because I knew I’d be on my feet a lot. I also got a nice leather belt that matched the shoes.
The Big Day
On the wedding day, I put on my outfit and I felt great. It was a hot day, but I stayed pretty cool and comfortable. The suit looked sharp, and I didn’t feel like I was melting. I got a lot of compliments on the outfit, which was nice.
So, that’s my story of how I picked out my summer wedding outfit. It took a bit of planning, but it was definitely worth it. I learned that choosing light colors and breathable fabrics is key for staying cool at a summer wedding. And hey, looking good doesn’t hurt either!
