Okay, so, I’m a bit taller than average, and I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect wedding shoes. It’s a bigger deal than I thought it would be! I mean, I don’t want to tower over my fiancé, but I also want to look, you know, bridal. So, the journey began.
First, I started looking online. Just browsing, really. I typed in “wedding shoes for tall brides” and a bunch of stuff popped up. Lots of flats, which are fine, but I wanted a little something extra. There were also a ton of heels, some super high, which were a no-go. I was a bit lost.
Research and Considerations
Then, I started reading articles and blogs. One suggested that 3-4 inches is a good height if you’re used to wearing heels. I do wear them to work sometimes, so I thought maybe that could work. But then I remembered, I’ll be standing and dancing for hours, so maybe a bit lower. Or maybe not… it is my wedding day!
- Looked at different styles: Some had lace, some had pearls, some had crystals. They all looked pretty, but I wasn’t sure what would go best with my dress. I made a mental note to figure that out later.
- Checked out different brands: Some were super expensive, some were more affordable. I needed to find a balance between style and budget. Everyone tells me that it’s not wise to overspend, but come on, some of them are just so pretty!
- Considered comfort: I knew I’d be on my feet all day, so I needed something comfortable. I read some reviews and made a list of brands that people said were comfy.
Trying Them On
Next, I decided to hit the stores. I tried on a bunch of different shoes. Some were too high, some were too plain, some were just not right. Then, I found a pair of low-heeled sandals with some pretty embellishments. They looked great, and they were actually comfortable! Then I tried on some 3-inch heels, just to see. They also looked great! Oh boy.
Making a Decision
I debated over these two pairs. One was great for dancing all night, and the other is like, the dream shoes for most girls! Finally, I decided to get them both. I figured the low-heeled one will be perfect for the reception, and the other one is perfect for the photos! It’s a bit of a splurge, but hey, it’s my wedding!
So, that’s my shoe story. It took some time, but I found two pairs that I love. Now, I just need to break them in before the big day. Wish me luck!
