Okay, so, my best friend, Sarah, asked me to be her maid of honor at her wedding. I was like, “Duh, of course!” Then came the fun part – picking out bridesmaid dresses. We decided on burgundy, which I think is such a classy and timeless color. It just works for any kind of wedding, you know?
Now, I’m no expert, but I’ve been in a few weddings, and let me tell you, finding a dress that everyone likes and feels good in is no small feat. We started by looking online, just to get some ideas. There are so many styles out there, it’s actually kind of overwhelming! But we quickly realized that A-line dresses were the way to go. They’re fitted at the top and then flare out gently, like the letter “A”. Seriously, they look good on everyone.
We made a day of it and hit up a few bridal shops. It was a blast trying on different shades of burgundy and various styles. Some were a bit too fancy, some were too simple, but we eventually found “the one”. It’s this gorgeous A-line dress with a subtle lace detail on the bodice. It’s elegant but not over the top, and it comes in a range of sizes to fit all the girls perfectly.
- First step: We agreed on the color. Burgundy is just perfect.
- Then: We browsed online to get an idea of the styles we liked.
- Next up: We went to actual stores to try stuff on.
- Finally: We found the perfect A-line dress that made everyone happy.
The Budget Talk
Now, about the cost. Usually, bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. I mean, it’s a nice gesture if the bride can cover it, but it’s not really expected. In our case, we all chipped in for our own dresses. Sarah did help out one of the bridesmaids who’s a student, which was really sweet of her.
All in all, it was a fun experience. We laughed, we bonded, and we found the perfect burgundy dresses that will make us all look stunning on Sarah’s big day. I can’t wait to stand by her side, looking fabulous in our matching dresses!
