Okay, so my daughter’s getting married, and I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect mother of the bride dress. She wants a summer wedding, so I figured a short sleeve, short dress would be just the thing. I started my search like everyone else – online, of course.
First, I hit up Pinterest. I typed in “short sleeve short mother of the bride dresses” and scrolled through tons of pins. I saved a few ideas that I liked, mostly flowy, A-line type dresses. I wanted a dress that made me feel stylish and comfortable at the same time.
Then, I moved on to some online stores. I checked out David’s Bridal and saw they had a whole section for mother of the bride dresses with jackets, which got me thinking maybe I should consider a jacket too, just in case it gets chilly in the evening.
- Found some cute dresses on Pinterest
- Checked David’s Bridal – they have dresses with jackets
- Looked at Kohl’s, they also have a good section
Next, I headed over to Kohl’s. They had a ton of dresses, and I found a couple of short sleeve options that were kinda nice. I also stumbled upon some jumpsuits and rompers, which I hadn’t even thought of before! They have a large section about Mother of the Bride Dresses.
After that, I decided to browse Nordstrom’s website. Their selection was a bit more, uh, fancy, and the prices were definitely higher. But I did see some gorgeous dresses, like a lace evening gown with cap sleeves and a beaded empire waist dress. They were beautiful, but way out of my budget.
I also checked out Dillard’s website. They have plus size and petite size dresses. I don’t need plus size, but it’s good to know they are inclusive.
My Takeaways
So, after all this searching, I’m still not 100% sure what I’m going to wear. I have a few ideas, and I definitely learned that there are a lot more options out there than I initially thought. I might even consider a jumpsuit now! I will definitely keep looking, and maybe I’ll even drag my daughter along to some stores to get her opinion. It’s her wedding after all!
This whole dress-finding mission has been a bit of a rollercoaster, to be honest. But it’s also been kind of fun. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress!
