Alright, let’s talk about these rose gold dresses for the bride’s mama. You know, the fancy kind you wear to a wedding. I seen some pictures, and let me tell ya, they’re somethin’ else. Shiny, ya know? Like a new penny, but prettier.
First off, what is this “rose gold” anyways? Sounds fancy. I guess it’s like, pink and gold mixed together? Anyway, it looks good. Real good. Makes a woman shine, even if she ain’t feelin’ so shiny on the inside, what with all the wedding fuss.
Now, I hear some folks say these dresses cost a pretty penny. Some say they go from $120 to $350. That’s a lot of chicken feed! But I guess for a special day, you gotta look your best, right? Can’t be showin’ up lookin’ like a sack of potatoes. Gotta have some sparkle, gotta have some…what do they call it? Elegance? Yeah, elegance. Gotta have some of that.
- They got long ones, those dresses that go all the way down to your feet. Good for hidin’ those ankles that ain’t as skinny as they used to be, ya know?
- Then there’s the short ones, above the knees. Them are for the younger mamas, I reckon. Or the ones with good legs, bless their hearts.
- And somethin’ called “high-low”? That’s shorter in the front and longer in the back. Sounds kinda silly to me, but hey, what do I know about fashion? I’m just an old woman.
I seen some with lace, too. Pretty little flowers and swirls all over ‘em. Makes a dress look fancy, I tell ya. And some got sparkles, sequins they call ‘em. Shiny little things that catch the light. Makes you shimmer when you walk. Like a disco ball, but classier, I guess.
And pockets! Can you believe it? Some of these fancy dresses got pockets! Now that’s somethin’ I can get behind. A woman always needs a place to put her hankie, or maybe a little candy for when the preacher starts dronin’ on and on.
They say there’s a whole bunch of places you can get these dresses. Some stores, and even online, can you imagine? Buying a dress without even tryin’ it on? That’s just crazy talk to me. But I guess that’s how the young folks do it these days. They got somethin’ called “Azazie” and “ChicSew,” sounds like some foreign words, but they got lots of dresses, I hear. And somethin’ called “Ever-Pretty”? Well, I hope they are pretty for that price!
If you’re lookin’ for one of these rose gold dresses for your daughter’s wedding, well, good luck to ya. You’re gonna need it! So many choices, so many styles, so many prices. It’ll make your head spin, I tell ya. But don’t you worry, find somethin’ that fits good and makes you feel good. That’s all that matters in the end. And don’t forget the pockets!
And one more thing, don’t go breakin’ the bank for one of these dresses. It’s just a dress, after all. It ain’t gonna make the wedding any better or worse. The important thing is bein’ there for your daughter, and lookin’ presentable, of course. But you don’t need to look like a queen to do that. Just be yourself, and wear somethin’ that makes you feel comfortable and confident. That’s my advice, for what it’s worth.
Now, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about fancy dresses has made me hungry. Maybe I’ll make some chicken and dumplings. Now that’s somethin’ that always makes me feel good, no matter what I’m wearin’.
