Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole wedding bouquet thing, and let me tell you, it’s way more involved than I thought! I decided I wanted a purple bouquet for my wedding – I just love the color, you know? It’s, like, elegant and a bit different. So I started looking into it.
First, I scrolled through tons of pictures online. Just to get an idea of what I even wanted. There are so many different shades of purple, and different flower types, it’s crazy! I found some with light purples, some with deep, rich purples, and some with a mix. Some even had blue ribbons, which looked kinda cool, not gonna lie.
Then, I started thinking about what kind of flowers I could actually use. Apparently, there’s, like, meaning behind different flowers. For example, I learned that Lily-of-the-valley means “return of happiness”, who would know? And sweet William means “gallantry” – how cute is that? I also saw that hyacinth stands for “constancy of love”, which is pretty fitting for a wedding, right?
- Picked some light purple flowers, like maybe lavender or lilac.
- Mixed in some darker purple ones, like maybe some kind of dark purple orchid or something.
- Added some greenery – like those eucalyptus leaves everyone’s using these days. They have that cool, silvery-green color.
- Maybe threw in some “filler” flowers, like baby’s breath. Those are those tiny white flowers that just kind of fill in the gaps.
I went to a local flower shop to see what they had. The lady there was super helpful. We talked about the colors and the style of my wedding dress, also the shape and size in terms of proportion, it’s a very complicated process. She helped me pick out some flowers that would look good together. I ended up getting some light purple roses, some darker purple lisianthus, and some of that eucalyptus I was talking about.
Then came the fun part – actually putting the bouquet together. Now, I’m no florist, so it definitely wasn’t perfect. But you know what? It was mine. I carefully arranged the flowers, trying to balance the colors and the shapes. I wrapped the stems with some ribbon that matched my bridesmaids’ dresses.
It took a while, but I finally finished it. It wasn’t exactly like the pictures I saw online, but it was unique, and I loved it. It was a little rough around the edges, but hey, so am I! I like that it has this handmade, personal touch. Plus, I saved a bunch of money by doing it myself, which is always a bonus! It is a special design for the bride!
