My granddaughter, she got hitched last week. Oh, it was a precious moment wedding, I tell ya. The whole family was there, even them cousins from way out yonder. We all cried like babies, happy tears, of course.
The bride, she looked like an angel. Dress all white and sparkly. Her fella, he cleaned up real good too. They picked this place outside, with all them trees and flowers. Sun was shining, birds was singing. Couldn’t ask for more, I reckon.
The Big Day
- The girl, she walked down that aisle, slow like.
- Her daddy, he gave her away.
- They said them vows, made promises and all that.
- Then they kissed! Everybody cheered!
After that, we all went to eat. Lord, the food. They had chicken, and ham, and potatoes. And cake! Big old cake, three layers high. I ate so much, my belly near ’bout busted. Good thing I wore my stretchy pants.
They had music too. Young folks these days, they like that loud stuff. But they played some slow ones too, for us old folks. I even danced a little with my old man. He still got some moves, that one.
Making Memories
They had this thing where you take pictures, in front of a fancy backdrop. Silly, but fun. We all got our picture taken. Even got one with the whole family. It’s a precious moment wedding, alright. Something to remember. Gonna put that picture right up on my wall.
The bride and groom, they opened their presents. Got all kinds of stuff. Toasters, and dishes, and I don’t know what all. Hope they got a big house, to put it all in. I gave ’em a quilt, made it myself. Took me near ’bout a year. Hope they like it.
Remember the Love
That girl of mine, she’s all grown up now. Got herself a husband. They seem real happy. That’s all that matters, I reckon. Hope they have a long and happy life together. Lots of babies, maybe. I’d like that. Be a great-grandma again.
This precious moment wedding made me think ’bout my own wedding. Long time ago, that was. Different time. But the love, that’s the same. That’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Love.
They had these little things they gave out, at the end. Little trinkets, with their names and the date on ’em. I got one in my pocket. Gonna keep it forever. A little reminder of this precious moment wedding.
Family and Friends
Saw folks I ain’t seen in ages. Cousins, aunts, uncles. Even old Mrs. Johnson from down the road. She’s still kickin’, that one. Good to see everybody. Weddings, they bring folks together. That’s a good thing.
It is a big deal to get married, you know. Two people become one, that is how they say. It is really a big thing. They start a new life, just like starting a new field for crops.
Young people these days, they do things different. We just went to the courthouse, back in my day. But this, this was special. A real precious moment wedding. I will never forget that day. Never ever. The whole family is there, seeing the two love birds start a new life together. They will plant their seed and have their own family. How wonderful is that!
What Is Important
- Love. That’s the main thing, the most important.
- Family. Being there for each other, no matter what.
- Memories. Making ’em, and keeping ’em close.
That’s what I told that girl of mine. Told her to love her husband, and be good to him. Told her to always remember this day, this precious moment wedding. And told her to call her grandma, once in a while. We old folks, we get lonely sometimes, you know. Just wanna hear about what is going on with the young folks. That is how we feel we are still there with you all. You know what I mean?
Well, I reckon that’s about all I got to say. It was a good day. A precious moment wedding, for sure. Now, I’m gonna go have me a nap. All this excitement has wore me out.
Hope they have a wonderful life together. That is all I want for them. Be happy and raise some babies. Then I will be a great grandma. How exciting! A precious moment wedding is just a start, a good start, I would say. Hope they have a lot of babies, running around, just like a henhouse with a bunch of little chicks!
