Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna yak about somethin’ called “Icelandic brides.” Now, I ain’t never been to Iceland, but from what I hear, it’s cold and got lots of them… whatchamacallits… glaciers? Anyways, we ain’t here for a geography lesson. We’re here to talk about them women, them Icelandic brides.
So, the youngsters these days, they do their courtin’ online, I hear. They got these things called “dating sites,” like a big ol’ catalog of folks lookin’ for love, or whatever they call it. And lemme tell ya, these sites, they got all sorts. You got your old folks, your young’uns, skinny ones, big ones… Sounds like a cattle auction, if ya ask me, but hey, what do I know?
Now, these dating sites, some of ’em, they say they got these “Icelandic brides” on there. I guess that means women from Iceland lookin’ for husbands. And not just from Iceland, mind you. They got women from all over, Asia, that place with the spicy food… what’s it called? Latina… America? And even Africa. Seems like everybody’s lookin’ for love, or a green card, or somethin’.
- First off, you gotta find a good website. Not one of them scammy ones, ya hear? There’s plenty of them out there, tryin’ to take your money. Look for one that’s been around a while, with good reviews. And don’t go givin’ your life savings to some stranger on the internet, ya hear?
- Then, you gotta make a profile. That’s like your advertisement, see? Gotta put your best foot forward, so to speak. But don’t go lyin’, now. Nobody likes a liar, and the truth always comes out eventually. Just be yourself, and hopefully, some nice Icelandic gal will like what she sees.
- And then, the hard part starts. You gotta talk to these women. Now, I ain’t no expert on this, but I reckon bein’ polite goes a long way. Don’t go bein’ all crude and vulgar. Treat ’em like ladies, ya hear? Ask ’em how they’re doin’, what they like to do… you know, normal stuff.
- And if you’re lucky enough to meet one of these Icelandic brides in person, well, then you gotta keep up the good work. Be a gentleman. Pull out her chair, buy her a drink… or whatever they do in Iceland. Maybe offer her some dried fish, or somethin’.
Now, some folks say these international marriages are tricky. Different cultures, different languages… it ain’t always easy. But I reckon if two people really love each other, they can make it work. It’s all about respect and understandin’, see? And maybe learnin’ a little bit of Icelandic wouldn’t hurt neither.
So, if you’re lookin’ for an Icelandic bride, or any kind of bride for that matter, I say go for it. Life’s too short to be lonely. Just be careful, be respectful, and don’t believe everything you read on the internet. And for goodness sake, don’t send money to nobody you ain’t met in person. That’s just common sense, ya hear?

One more thing, they say these Icelandic women are strong, you know, independent. So don’t go thinkin’ you can boss ’em around. You gotta treat ’em as equals, partners, like the old folks used to say, “treat your wife like you treat your best horse.” Well, maybe not exactly like that, but you get the idea.
And don’t be surprised if these Icelandic brides don’t fit your idea of what a woman should be. They got their own ways, their own customs. Just be open-minded, and willing to learn. And for heaven’s sake, don’t go comparing them to your mama, or your ex-wife. That’s just asking for trouble.
So, there you have it. My two cents on Icelandic brides. Take it or leave it. But remember, love is a funny thing. It can happen anywhere, anytime, with anyone. Even with an Icelandic gal you met on the internet. Just be careful, be respectful, and be yourself. And who knows, maybe you’ll find your happily ever after, even if it’s in a cold, faraway place like Iceland.
