Well, I gotta tell ya, I seen a lot of things in my day. But this here * wedding gown thing, that’s somethin’ else. My granddaughter, she’s gettin’ hitched next spring, and she’s been showin’ me all these fancy pictures. She says, “Grandma, look at this * wedding dress!” I swear, these young folks and their internet!
She showed me this one, it was all silky lookin’, you know? Called it a “silk blend.” Must be somethin’ special. They got all kinds of these * wedding gowns, I reckon. Some with long sleeves, some with no sleeves at all. Some all puffy, like a big ol’ cloud. She says they call those “ballgowns.” Others are tight, hugging the body. You can get it if you want to show off your shape. They got all different kinds, enough to make your head spin!
Now, I got married in my mama’s old dress. We didn’t have no fancy stores like this . But these dresses, they sure are pretty. If I was young and getting married now, you know, I’d sure consider one of these. They say even the big shot, Kim Kardashian got a fancy wedding dress, but it wasn’t from . But that girl has money. A lot of money. I don’t know that, but I heard it. And I don’t know this Kim K, but that’s not the point, is it?
These * wedding gowns, they ain’t cheap, though. My granddaughter, she’s been savin’ up her pennies. Says a wedding dress is important. And I guess it is. It’s your big day, you wanna look your best. And these dresses, they do make a girl look like a princess.
They got this style, they call it “A-line.” My granddaughter, she explained it to me. Says it’s good for everyone. Makes everyone look good, no matter your shape or size. And it hides the, you know, the backside if you’re a little self-conscious about that. They thought of everything, these folks!

They even got dresses for the other girls, the ones standin’ up with the bride. They call ’em “bridesmaids.” has dresses for them, too. All matchin’ and pretty. And they got suits for the men, too. The groom and his friends. Everyone lookin’ sharp. It’s a whole production, this weddin’ business. Back in my day, a wedding was a simple thing. Now it’s like a movie.
They got these * weddings things, it’s like a whole section of the store, just for weddings. Dresses, and shoes, and sparkly things for your hair. Everything you need to get hitched. It’s a lot, I tell ya. But I guess that’s just how it is these days. Times change. And these * wedding gowns, they’re a part of that change, I reckon.
My granddaughter, she’s got her heart set on one of these * dresses. She showed me a picture, it was all flowy and pretty. Had some lace on it, real delicate. She looked like an angel in that picture. I told her, “Honey, you’re gonna be the prettiest bride there ever was.” And I meant it.
This one dress, they called it “Dalila Tulle Skirt.” Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? But they say it can be paired with a simple T-shirt! Can you imagine? But for the wedding day, probably something a little fancier than a T-shirt, I imagine. It is a wedding after all. But a T-shirt? With a wedding dress? That’s new.
I don’t know much about this , but they sure do know how to make a pretty wedding gown. And they got all kinds, for all kinds of girls. Big, small, tall, short. They got somethin’ for everyone. That’s good, I reckon. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful on their weddin’ day. Even if it costs a pretty penny.
