Alright, alright, settle down ya’ll! Lemme tell ya, standin’ up here ain’t exactly my cup of tea. Never been one for fancy talkin’, but I reckon I gotta say a few words for my boy and his, uh, whatchamacallit, his bride.
So, first off, thanks for comin’. Yeah, thanks for showin’ up and sharin’ this day with us. Means a lot, it really does. We ain’t got much, but we got love, and that’s what matters, ain’t it? Love, that’s the thing that keeps us goin’.
Now, my boy… *sniff* He was a rascal, I tell ya. Always climbin’ trees, gettin’ into mischief. Remember that time he tried to ride the pig? Nearly broke his neck, that one. But he always had a good heart, ya know? A good heart and a stubborn streak a mile wide. Gets that from his ma, I reckon.
- He was always a handful.
- But a good boy, deep down.
- Stubborn as a mule, though. Just like his ma.
And now look at him. All growed up and gettin’ hitched. Time sure does fly, don’t it? One minute they’re in diapers, the next they’re standin’ at the altar. Makes an old woman like me wanna cry, but I’ll hold it in for now. Gotta be strong for my boy. gotta be strong and gotta hold those tears back, you know how it is.
This, uh, this *bride’s name*, she’s somethin’ special, I tell ya. She makes my boy happy, and that’s all that matters to me. She’s a sweet girl. I see the way she looks at him, and I know she’s good for him. She’s kind and gentle, and she’s got a good head on her shoulders. That’s important you know, a good head on her shoulders. They say opposites attract, and well, she’s definitely the opposite of my wild boy. But maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe she’ll keep him outta trouble. Lord knows somebody has to!
I ain’t gonna lie, marriage ain’t always easy. There’ll be good times and bad times, ups and downs. But you gotta stick together, ya hear? You gotta work at it. You gotta communicate and compromise and, most importantly, you gotta love each other, even when you don’t feel like it. Love ain’t always a feelin’, sometimes it’s a choice. You choose to love each other, every single day. Choose to love each other, every darn day. That’s the secret, I reckon.
So, to my boy and his bride, I wish you a lifetime of happiness. May your love grow stronger with each passing year. May you always have each other’s backs. And may you always remember where you come from, and the people who love you. And *bride’s name*, welcome to the family. We ain’t fancy, but we’re family, and we’ll always be here for you.
And one more thing, don’t forget to visit your old ma every now and then. I get lonely, ya know? And bring me some of that cake, will ya? It looks mighty tasty. Alright, I’m done. Go on now, enjoy your party. And somebody get me a chair, my old bones are tired. Go on, enjoy yourselves! I’m gonna go sit down now, before I fall down. Thank you all for listenin’ to this old woman ramble. Bless your hearts.
Now, let’s raise a glass to the happy couple! To love, laughter, and a happily ever after! Cheers!
