Okay, so, I recently had to figure out what to wear for my buddy’s summer wedding. It was a bit of a headache, but I think I nailed it in the end. Here’s how it went down:
First off, I knew it was gonna be hot. Like, really hot. Summer weddings are beautiful, but man, can they be sweaty. So, the first thing I did was think about the fabric. I started looking into suits made of light, breathable stuff. I mean, nobody wants to be that guy drenched in sweat at the altar, right?
After checking out a bunch of different options, I decided to go for a linen suit. It seemed like the best bet to stay cool. Plus, linen has this kind of casual elegance that’s perfect for a summer wedding. It’s not too stiff, you know?
- Initially, I was thinking of going with a classic navy blue. But then, I remembered what I read online about light colors reflecting sunlight. Seemed pretty smart.
- I ended up choosing a light beige color. It felt summery and would definitely help with the heat. Plus, it looked pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.
Color Choices
Next up, I had to pick out the shirt. I went with a simple white cotton shirt. Classic, clean, and breathable. I thought about maybe going for a light blue or something, but in the end, the white shirt just felt right. It was a good contrast with the beige suit.
For the tie, I wanted something that would add a bit of pop but not be too over the top. I ended up finding a nice, patterned tie with some subtle blues and greens. It matched the whole summer vibe without being too loud.
Shoes were pretty straightforward. I went with some brown leather loafers. Comfortable, stylish, and they worked well with the linen suit. I made sure to break them in a bit before the wedding, though. Didn’t want any blisters ruining the day!
Last but not least, I added a few accessories. A simple, classy watch and a pocket square that matched the tie. Nothing too flashy, just enough to complete the look.
On the day of the wedding, everything came together perfectly. I felt comfortable, I looked good, and most importantly, I didn’t overheat! A lot of people were sweating through their suits, but mine was totally fine. So I think I made all the right choices.
So yeah, that’s my story of figuring out the whole summer wedding attire thing. It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it in the end. Hope this helps any other guys out there trying to figure out what to wear to a summer wedding!
