Okay, so I got invited to a bridesmaid luncheon, and let me tell you, finding the right dress was a journey. This was my first time being a bridesmaid, and I had no clue where to start.
First step: Figuring out the vibe
The bride, my good friend Sarah, gave us some hints. She wanted something “semi-formal” but also “dressy casual” since it was at this cute outdoor garden place. She also mentioned she liked soft pastels and floral prints. Great, that narrowed it down… a little, I guess.
Second step: Hunting for the dress
I started browsing online. I looked at so many dresses. Long ones, short ones, flowery ones, plain ones. My head was spinning. I learned about the “A-line” style dresses, which seem to be super popular and flattering, as they look like the letter “A” from the waist down. I also learned that midi dresses are a popular choice, they look both chic and versatile. After hours, I finally found a few options that I thought might work.
Third step: Trying them on
I ordered three dresses online. A light blue floral midi dress, a blush pink A-line dress, and a flowy maxi dress with a subtle flower print. When they arrived, I tried them on, my god. The light blue one was too big. The pink one was okay, but it didn’t feel like “me.”
I decided to go to a store with my sister. She is very familiar with dresses. After trying on several dresses in the store, I finally found a dress that fit me very well. It was a beautiful floral midi dress with a flattering A-line cut. It was not expensive at all!
The big day
When the day of the luncheon came, I felt great in my dress. It was perfect for the garden setting, and it matched Sarah’s vision. We took a bunch of pictures, and everyone looked so good together. It was a really fun and memorable day. I am so glad that I could find a perfect dress for this bridesmaid luncheon.
