Gotta find a dress that is the best choice for me, I want it to be long, so it feels formal, you know?
I seen them fancy ladies on the TV, all dressed up in them long gowns. Sparkly things, shiny things. I want to be comfortable, but I want to be beautiful, too! This is the only time my baby girl is gettin’ married, so you know I gotta make it count, and be the best I can be for my little girl. You know what I’m talkin’ about? Like them movie stars, but not so…showy. I ain’t no spring chicken no more, but I still got some life in me! I want a mother of bride long gown that shows that off.
Now, I ain’t got all day to be lookin’. I gotta get the taters peeled, and the laundry’s waitin’. And who’s gonna feed them chickens? Not the groom, that’s for sure! He’s a good boy, that one, but he don’t know nothin’ about chickens. So I need to find me a dress, and I need to find it quick. I also need to take care of my cows, those are my babies, gotta make sure they are alright.
I heard tell there’s places you can go, shops and such. Big places with rows and rows of dresses. But that sounds like a whole lot of fuss. And who’s gonna drive me into town? My old truck, she ain’t what she used to be. And them city folk, they drive like maniacs! It can be so dangerous, people are always rushing and rushing, like why can’t they just take it easy and relax? People these days don’t know how to slow down, you know?
Maybe I can find somethin’ online. My granddaughter, she’s always on that computer thing. She says it’s got everything you could ever want. Maybe she’s right. Maybe I can find a mother of the bride long gown on there. I can look for it while I eat my lunch. If I have the time to eat lunch that is, gotta finish up all my work first.

Wouldn’t that be somethin’? A real dream come true. For me, and for my girl. And after that, we can sit down and have a nice meal together, to celebrate. I need to look at different styles. I saw a lady wearin’ a blue dress the other day, looked real nice. But then again, red is a powerful color. Maybe I should wear red? Oh, I don’t know!
