Okay, so, my kid’s getting hitched! I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect outfit, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I finally landed on the idea of a midi dress – not too short, not too long, just right. Classy, you know?
First things first, I hit up all the usual suspects, the department stores. Macy’s had a decent selection, I’ll give them that. I tried on a bunch, from flowy floral numbers to more structured, tailored designs. I even found a few that were okay, but nothing that really screamed “mother of the groom” to me.

- Tried on a soft gray – getting closer, but still no cigar.
Then, I ventured into the world of online shopping. Big mistake. Well, not really, but it was overwhelming! So many choices, so many brands, so many price points. I spent hours scrolling, added a million things to my cart, and ended up buying… nothing. I just couldn’t commit without trying them on first.
But then, I remembered reading something about a brand called Eliza J. They apparently have some great formal gowns. I found their website and started browsing. And let me tell you, they have some beautiful stuff! I finally found a ruffle front gown that I thought might be the one.
I ordered it, and when it arrived, I was so excited. I tried it on, and it was almost perfect. The fit was great, the style was elegant, and I felt amazing in it. It was a little more formal than I had originally planned, but I figured, hey, it’s a wedding! I should dress up!
I also browsed some midi dresses that were on sale, up to 70% off, which was tempting. But I decided to stick with the Eliza J gown. It was worth the splurge. I think it will be perfect for my son’s big day, whether it’s a more formal wedding or something a bit more casual, and I’ll look amazing in it, not too flashy but with some style, you know?
So, that’s my midi dress saga. I learned a lot along the way, and I’m happy to say that I finally found the perfect dress. Now, I just need to find some shoes to match!
