Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout these here… precious moments bride groom thingamajigs. Don’t rightly know what all the fuss is about, but folks seem to like ’em, so here’s what I gathered.
What are these Precious Moments Bride and Groom things anyway?
Now, from what I can tell, these “Precious Moments” are little statues, you know, like them dolls but not for playin’ with. They got these big-eyed, cutesy lookin’ characters, and they make all sorts of ’em. The bride and groom ones are, well, for weddin’s. You know, the little man and woman all dressed up in their weddin’ clothes.
I saw some pictures, and they’re all standin’ there lookin’ lovey-dovey. Some are at the altar, some are dancin’, some are just holdin’ hands. They’re made of somethin’ called “porcelain,” which sounds fancy, but feels like them dishes ya gotta be careful not to drop.
Where do ya get ’em?
Seems like ya can find these things all over the place. I heard tell of a place called “Precious Moments Company” way out in Carthage, Missouri. Sounds like a long ways off. But you can also find them little statues online, on them internet stores. Places like… well, I don’t rightly remember the names, but they got all sorts of things on there. Just type in somethin’ like “Precious Moments Bride Groom Figurine” and see what pops up.
- Some places even got special ones, like them “limited edition” things. Means they don’t make a whole bunch of ‘em, so they cost more, I reckon.
- And they ain’t just for lookin’ at neither. Some folks use ‘em as cake toppers, ya know, on top of that big fancy weddin’ cake.
Why do folks like ‘em so much?
Beats me! But I guess they remind folks of love and happy times. You know, gettin’ hitched and all that. They give ‘em as gifts, for weddin’s or showers, or just ‘cause. I heard they even got ones for bridesmaids and such.
Prices and all that money stuff
Now, these little things ain’t cheap, not always. I saw some that cost a pretty penny, like eighty dollars or more! And that’s without the shippin’ and handlin’. But then again, some are cheaper, maybe forty or fifty dollars. Depends on how fancy they are, I guess. If they got them sparkly things on ’em, what they call “diamond-like crystals,” they cost more, you betcha.
Are they worth it?
Well, that depends on who you ask. If you like them cutesy little things, and they make ya happy, then maybe so. If you’re just lookin’ for somethin’ to collect dust on the shelf, well, maybe not. Me, I’d rather spend my money on a good chicken dinner, but to each their own, I always say.
Other things to know
I also heard tell of some “exclusive” Precious Moments figurines, the kind you can’t find just anywhere. Seems like some places have their own special designs, so if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ unique, you gotta hunt around a bit.
And they got all sorts of themes too, not just bride and groom. They got ones for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, even that “Princess Bride” movie, whatever that is. So, if you’re into these things, there’s probably one for just about any occasion.
So there ya have it. That’s all I know about these Precious Moments bride groom doodads. They’re cute little statues, folks like ’em for weddin’s and such, and they cost a bit of money. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
One last thing, if you’re gonna buy one of these things online, make sure ya read the fine print. Ya know, check the shippin’ costs and make sure it ain’t broke before ya buy it. And don’t be fooled by them fancy words, they’re just little statues, nothin’ more, nothin’ less.
And that’s the truth, as sure as I’m standin’ here!
