Wedding Photos Bride Getting Ready – Some Real Talk, You Hear?
Alright, so you’re gettin’ hitched, huh? Big day, big dress, big fuss. And everyone’s yappin’ about these “getting ready” pictures. Honestly, I didn’t have none of that fancy stuff back in my day. But I guess that’s how things are now, so let’s talk about it. Gotta keep up with the times, even if it makes my head spin.
First thing’s first, that dress. You spent a fortune on it, so you gotta show it off, right? Before you even put it on, get someone to take a picture of it hangin’ there all pretty. They call it a “showcase” shot. Sounds fancy, but it just means they take a picture of the dress lookin’ all nice and new.
- Hang it somewhere nice, not on the back of the door, ya hear?
- Make sure it’s all puffed up and lookin’ its best.
- Get a good picture of all them frills and sparkles. That’s what you paid for, after all.
Now, about you gettin’ ready. This ain’t just about slappin’ on some makeup and throwin’ on the dress. It’s about all them little moments before you walk down that aisle. And somebody wants to take pictures of all of it! Can you believe it?
The Little Things, They Matter, I Guess
They call ’em “detail shots.” Sounds like somethin’ a mechanic would say, but it ain’t. It’s all about the little things. Your shoes, your jewelry, even that little somethin’ old, somethin’ new stuff. I never had nothin’ like that, but you young folks, you like this stuff.
Think about it – that necklace your grandma gave you, the one she wore on her wedding day? Get a picture of that. Those fancy shoes you spent way too much money on? Get a picture of them, too. It’s all part of the story, they say. Makes the whole thing more… personal, I reckon.
And don’t forget the makeup! Now, I ain’t never worn much makeup myself, just a bit of rouge for church on Sundays. But you girls, you go all out. So, get some pictures of that too. You putting on your lipstick, your friend doin’ your eyeshadow. It’s all part of…the whole thing, ya know?
Makin’ the Most of It, Like My Mama Used to Say
They say you gotta “make the most” of these pictures. That means plannin’ ahead. Don’t just be runnin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. Get yourself organized, make sure things look nice, and tell that picture-taker what you want. It’s your day, so you can be bossy. Not too bossy, though, or they won’t want to take your picture anymore!
Here’s a few things I’ve heard are important:
- Lightin’! Make sure there’s plenty of light. Nobody wants dark and gloomy pictures. Open them curtains, turn on them lamps. Make it bright!
- Clean up the Clutter! Nobody wants to see your dirty socks and underwear in the background. Tidy up the room a bit, make it look presentable. It’s for your fancy picture, after all.
- Relax! This one’s important, I think. Don’t be all stressed out. Smile, laugh, have fun. These pictures are supposed to show you happy, not all wound up like a ball of yarn.
And Last But Not Least…
Get yourself a good picture-taker, someone who knows what they’re doin’. Don’t just ask your cousin Jimmy with his fancy new phone. Get a real pro, someone who can make you look your best, even when you’re half-dressed and got curlers in your hair.
And remember, these pictures are for you. They’re to help you remember this day, all the little moments, all the excitement. So make sure you get what you want. Don’t be shy, speak up, and tell them what you want. This here is important!
So there you have it. My two cents on these “getting ready” pictures. It’s a lot more than I ever did for my wedding, but times are different, I guess. Just remember to have fun, relax, and let those picture-takers do their thing. And most importantly, enjoy your big day! It goes by faster than you think, just like that time that prize-winning pig got loose at the county fair – one minute he was there, next minute… poof! Gone!
