Okay, so, let’s talk about brides and bustles. I had this whole thing planned out with my wedding dress, you know? It was a gorgeous gown, but the train was super long. Great for walking down the aisle, not so great for dancing the night away at the reception. That’s where the bustle comes in.
First off, I started by finding a dress I loved. Then I realized that the train, while beautiful, was going to be a problem later on. I mean, I didn’t want people stepping all over it while I was trying to bust a move! I heard about this thing called a bustle, which is basically a way to lift and secure the train of your dress so you can move around more easily.
So, I went to this place called the Blue Bridal Outlet, which is down on 137 W Benson St. The ladies there were super helpful. They showed me all kinds of bustle styles. We talked about what kind of look I was going for and how much movement I needed. The woman helping me pointed out that I have an hourglass figure, which means my proportions are pretty balanced. She suggested a bustle that would keep that balance while still letting me move.
We tried out a few different bustle styles right there in the store. I practiced walking around, twirling, and even doing a little bit of dancing to see how they felt. It was actually kind of fun! After a bit of trial and error, we found the perfect one.
Of course, I couldn’t do all this on my own. I brought along my mom, my sister, and my best friend for a dress hunt. They helped me pick out the dress in the first place, and they were there to give me their opinions on the bustle, too. It was great to have them there for support. My future mother-in-law joined us, too. We all got together and made a day of it!
When the big day finally arrived, I felt so confident and comfortable in my dress. I walked down the aisle with the train flowing behind me, and then after the ceremony, my friend helped me bustle it up. I was able to dance the night away without a care in the world. It was perfect!
In the end, I learned that a bustle is a total lifesaver for any bride with a long train. It’s all about finding the right style for your body and your dress. If you’re planning a wedding, definitely consider getting a bustle. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did!
