Okay, so, I had this whole wedding thing coming up, and you know how it is – you want your best buds to look sharp, but not outshine the groom, right? So I went with the classic black tuxedo for my groomsmen. Timeless, classy, you can’t go wrong.
First things first, I started looking around, and man, there are tons of options out there. I mean, you’ve got your designer stuff, your rentals, the whole nine yards. I checked out a few places online, saw some names like Joseph Abboud and Vera Wang – fancy, right?
- Browsed a bunch of websites with tuxedos.
- Checked out different styles – slim fit, classic fit, you name it.
- Saw prices starting around $99, which seemed pretty reasonable.
But I didn’t want to just pick something off the rack. I wanted my guys to look good, feel good, you know? So I thought about how to make them stand out, but in a subtle way. I figured, maybe different fabrics would do the trick. Like, I could wear a nice wool-blend tux, and they could wear something more casual, like polyester. Just to create a little visual difference, nothing too crazy.
Then I started thinking about accessories. I mean, a black tux is a black tux, but the little details can really elevate the whole look. I thought about bow ties – definitely bow ties – and maybe white pocket squares. Classy, right? And for me, maybe I’d add a cummerbund or a nice watch. Just something to make me stand out a little bit more as the groom. Oh, and shiny black dress shoes were a must, not a choice.
Then there were some ground rules that I thought about. Since I’m the one getting married here, I was planning on telling the groomsmen some basic things.
- No gum chewing.
- No sunglasses, even if it’s bright out.
- Keep your hands out of your pockets for the pictures.
- And most importantly, phones off. Not on vibrate, not on silent, off.
In the end, I think I made a solid choice. The black tuxedo is a classic for a reason, and with a few tweaks, I figured I could make my groomsmen look sharp without stealing my thunder. Plus, it’s one less thing to stress about, right? Wedding planning is a whole other beast, but at least the groomsmen attire was sorted. Now, let’s see if I can actually pull off this whole groom thing…
