Okay, so, I’ve been thinking a lot about what perfume to wear for my big day. I mean, it’s your wedding day, right? You gotta smell amazing!
I started by thinking about what kind of scents I generally like. Do I want something light and fresh, or something a bit heavier and more, you know, nighttime-y? Then it hit me, wedding is mostly during the day, so I probably should go with something lighter. I do love those floral smells, like roses and jasmine, they just feel so romantic and classic, perfect for a bride, so I decided to focus on those.
My journey to find the perfect one
I started sniffing around, literally. I went to a few department stores and sprayed a bunch of those little paper strips. My nose was overwhelmed after a while! Some were way too strong, some were too sweet, and some just didn’t feel like “me.”
Then, I remembered reading somewhere that Kate Middleton wore a gardenia scent for her wedding. White Gardenia Petals, it was called. That sounded pretty, so I looked for something similar. But still, I wanted to try a few more options, just to be sure.
- Floral Scents: I really dig those. Rose, jasmine, lily… they just scream “wedding” to me. So I tried a bunch that had those as the main smell.
- Something New: I kind of liked the idea of wearing a brand new perfume, something I’d only associate with my wedding day. Makes it even more special, right? I found that using a new perfume is great for memory on such an important day!
Finally, after trying on what felt like a hundred different perfumes, I found a really pretty one with a flowery smell, some gardenia, and also had a nice jasmine scent too. It’s not too strong, but it definitely lasts. I spritzed some on my wrist and walked around for a few hours to see how it settled. And guess what? I think I’ve found the one! It felt light, pretty, and just right for saying “I do.”
Finding the perfect wedding day perfume was a bit of a journey, but it was totally worth it. I can’t wait to wear it when I walk down the aisle!
