Okay, so I’ve been trying to find the perfect wedding dress, and it’s been quite the journey! I have what they call a pear-shaped body. Basically, my hips are wider than my shoulders.
I started by looking at all sorts of dresses online. A-line, mermaid, ball gown – you name it, I checked it out. I noticed that some styles looked better on pear shapes than others. It got me thinking, “What if I focused on those?”
Next, I started visiting bridal shops. I tried on a bunch of different dresses. I quickly realized that A-line dresses were my best friend. They cinch at the waist and flow out, which is great for balancing out my figure.
- I also experimented with different necklines.
- Square necklines? Not bad.
- Boat necklines? Pretty good.
- But oh boy, plunging necklines and off-the-shoulder ones? They were amazing! They really draw attention upwards, which is exactly what I wanted.
Then there were swing dresses. They hang from the shoulders and flare out. They hide the waistline, yeah, but they make the upper body look really good. I tried a few, and they weren’t bad, especially for a more casual look.
After trying on what felt like a hundred dresses, I finally found “the one.” It’s an A-line dress with a beautiful off-the-shoulder neckline. It makes me feel confident and beautiful.
So, if you’re like me and have a pear-shaped body, don’t stress about finding the right dress. Just focus on what makes you feel good. Try on different styles, see what works for you, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. In the end, it is your big day!
