Okay, so, I’ve got this friend, right? He’s getting hitched this summer, and yours truly is the best man. We were clueless about what to wear. I mean, it’s a summer wedding! You gotta look sharp, but you also don’t wanna melt like an ice cream cone under the sun.
First things first, we checked out the invitation. It said “garden casual” for the dress code. Good start, but what does that even mean for a groom and his crew? We decided to hit up some stores, just to get a feel for what’s out there.
We started with the groom’s outfit. My buddy, the groom, he’s a pretty laid-back guy, but he still wanted to look special, you know? We browsed through a bunch of suits, and let me tell you, there are a lot of options. Finally, he tried on this light gray linen suit, and man, it was perfect. It looked classy but not too stuffy, and the fabric was super breathable.
The Groom Look:
- Color: Light gray
- Material: Linen
- Style: Two-piece suit, notch lapel
Next up, the groomsmen. We wanted something that would complement the groom’s look without being too matchy-matchy. After trying on a few different combos, we settled on light blue linen pants and white button-down shirts. We added some brown leather suspenders and bow ties to give it a bit of personality.
The Groomsmen Look:
- Pants: Light blue linen
- Shirts: White button-down
- Accessories: Brown leather suspenders and bow ties
For shoes, we decided to go with brown leather loafers. They’re comfortable, stylish, and they go perfectly with the overall vibe we were aiming for. We also picked up some pocket squares and boutonnieres to complete the look. The pocket squares were a simple white linen, and the boutonnieres were made with small, seasonal flowers.
The whole process was actually a lot of fun. We laughed a lot, took a bunch of pictures, and most importantly, we found outfits that everyone felt comfortable and confident in. I think we nailed it, and I can’t wait to see my buddy get married in style!
It was a bit of a journey, but we figured it out. Summer wedding attire for the groom and groomsmen – check! Now, onto the next wedding planning adventure!
