Okay, so, my best friend is getting married next year, and guess what? I’m one of the bridesmaids! I was super pumped when she asked me, and then, of course, the big question popped up: what will we wear?
She’s going for this super romantic, soft vibe for her wedding, and she decided that ballet color bridesmaid dresses would be the perfect fit. I’m totally on board with the color – it’s like this really pretty, light, almost blush pink that’s just so elegant and dreamy. But finding the right dress? That’s a whole other story.
First, we started with some online window shopping. I mean, we spent hours scrolling through different websites, looking at all kinds of dresses. We found some that were ballet length, which is kind of like a tea-length, hitting between the knee and ankle. Very classy, you know? Some websites have a really good selection, with different styles, sizes, and all that. So, that was a good start.
Then, we thought, “Okay, let’s make this a fun day out.” So, we gathered the other bridesmaids and hit a few local stores. We tried on so many dresses! Some were off-the-shoulder, some had this flowy chiffon material, some were more fitted… It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. We did find a couple of contenders, but nothing that screamed “this is it!”
We also checked out some online stores that specialize in wedding stuff. I stumbled upon one that lists dresses from $50 to $99, which is pretty good, right? I mean, weddings can get expensive, so it’s nice to save a bit where you can. Another site mentioned that they have these “ready to ship” dresses that are discounted a lot because they were used for at-home try-ons. They said some might have minor imperfections, but hey, for a good discount, I’m not complaining.
One of the bridesmaids is a bit more, shall we say, “curvy,” so we needed to find a place that had a good range of sizes. We found a store that goes up to size 30W and has like 40 different colors, so that was a relief. It’s important that everyone feels comfortable and beautiful, you know?
We saw some dresses online that were in the $80 range, some even cheaper, around $40. They looked pretty good in the pictures, with ruching and slits and all that. One dress was called an “infinity dress,” which I guess means you can style it in different ways. That could be fun, right? Everyone could have their own unique look while still matching.
After all this searching, we still haven’t found “the one” yet. But it’s been a fun process, trying on dresses, and imagining how great we’ll all look on the big day. I’m sure we’ll find something that’s perfect for everyone eventually. And I will share with you guys when we find the perfect ballet color bridesmaid dress!
