Okay, so my best friend is getting hitched this winter, and I’m in charge of figuring out the bridesmaid dresses. It has been a journey, let me tell you. I knew it won’t be easy and I was ready to face it.
First, I gathered the other bridesmaids for a brainstorming session. I created a group chat online. We started throwing around ideas, colors, and styles. It was a bit chaotic at first, with everyone having different opinions. Some wanted long, flowing gowns, while others preferred something shorter and more practical for the winter weather. And the colors, oh boy! We went from deep reds to icy blues to emerald greens. At that time, I felt like we were not going anywhere.
To get some inspiration, I spent hours browsing online, looking at winter wedding photos and bridesmaid dress collections. I made a huge board filled with different styles, fabrics, and colors. Sharing it with the other bridesmaids, hoping to narrow down our options, is the best idea I had had.
After much debate, we finally agreed on a color palette. We decided to go with a beautiful, rich burgundy. It seemed perfect for a winter wedding, and it complemented the bride’s dress beautifully. But still, we can’t decide what material should we choose, or which style would be better.
Next up was finding the actual dresses. We decided to hit up some local bridal shops to try on different styles. I booked appointments at three different stores. That was a day! We tried on dozens of dresses, laughing, twirling, and giving our honest opinions. It was tiring, but also so much fun. I’m so glad that we have a lot of photos to look back on now.
Trying On Dresses
- Store 1: We found a few contenders, but nothing that really wowed us.
- Store 2: This place had a wider selection, and we started to see some potential. We narrowed it down to two styles that everyone seemed to like.
- Store 3: We hit the jackpot! There was this one dress that just clicked. It was elegant, flattering, and perfect for the winter setting. And it’s in our color!
We finally found the perfect dress! It was such a relief to have that checked off the list. But our journey didn’t end there. We still needed to figure out accessories, shoes, and all the little details to complete the look. More shopping, yay! After all, it’s all worth it when you see the smile on your best friend’s face!
I took everyone’s measurements and placed the order. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting for the dresses to arrive and hoping they fit everyone perfectly. Fingers crossed! It was a long process, but it was so worth it to see my best friend’s vision for her winter wedding come to life. And, I have to say, we bridesmaids are going to look amazing!
