Okay, so, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dresses. I wanted something classy but not too “old lady”-ish, you know? And ivory is just so timeless, it works for pretty much any wedding theme. Satin was a no-brainer. It’s luxurious and photographs beautifully. My bridesmaids are all different shapes and sizes, so I wanted a fabric that would flatter everyone, and satin just drapes so nicely.
So, the quest began. I started by browsing online, just to get an idea of what styles were out there. Man, there are a lot of options! I spent hours going through different websites, saving pictures of dresses I liked, and slowly but surely, a general style started to emerge in my mind. I found that I really liked the look of those spaghetti-strap dresses with a v-neckline.
After I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for, I started visiting some local bridal shops. I figured it would be good to see the dresses in person, feel the fabric, and have my bridesmaids try them on. This was super helpful because it gave us a better sense of how the dresses would actually look and feel on.
- First stop, a cute little boutique downtown. They had a decent selection, but nothing really jumped out at me. Plus, the prices were a little steep.
- Next, I went to a larger, more well-known store. They had a much bigger selection, and I actually found a few dresses that I liked. The problem was, they didn’t have all the sizes I needed, and they weren’t in ivory satin. Bummer!
- Third time’s the charm, right? I found this place called “Dillard’s.” Heard they had a wide selection, but also a bit pricey. But hey, I was getting desperate.
After all that, I realized finding the perfect dress wasn’t as easy as I thought. I took a break from the actual shops and went back online. I stumbled upon this place called “Avery Austin” I had never heard of them before, but their website was filled with ivory bridesmaid dresses. It’s like they read my mind! I found a dress that was almost exactly what I was picturing. The only thing was that it had this “cake skirt” thing going on, which I wasn’t totally sold on.
After spending hours and hours searching, trying on, and considering, I went back to the dress I found at Avery Austin. I showed it to my bridesmaids, and they all loved it! Even the cake skirt detail was starting to grow on me. It added a bit of a boho vibe that I actually ended up liking. So, guess what? I ordered them!
The dresses arrived a few weeks later, and they were even more beautiful in person. The satin was so soft and flowy, and the ivory color was perfect. My bridesmaids tried them on, and they all looked stunning. I was so happy! I can finally check “find bridesmaid dresses” off my wedding to-do list.
The whole process was definitely more involved than I anticipated, but it was worth it. I learned that it’s really important to do your research, try on a lot of different styles, and be patient. It might take some time, but you’ll eventually find the perfect dresses for your special day. Good luck with your search, and I hope my experience can give you some help!
