Okay, here is my sharing about making a Chinese wedding hairstyle:
I got a friend, right? She’s getting hitched, Chinese style. Asked me to do her hair. She showed me some pictures, all fancy and traditional, and I thought, “How hard can it be?”
So, I started digging around, looking at pictures and videos. Got a feel for what we were going for. I figured the main thing was to get the hair up, make it look full, and add some bling.
First thing, I made sure her hair was clean and dry. We wanted a good base to work with. Then, I started sectioning her hair. I made a middle part and then divided the back into two sections. I tied those sections into ponytails. That was kind of tricky, trying to get them even.
- I started teasing the hair in the ponytails. That was something I saw in almost every picture. You know, backcombing it to make it look thicker.
- Once that was done, I started shaping the hair. I wrapped one ponytail around itself to make a bun. I pinned it in place. Then I did the same with the other ponytail, trying to make the buns look kind of symmetrical.
- The front part was a bit different. I took small sections of hair and twisted them back, pinning them towards the buns. I wanted it to look kind of soft and romantic, not too tight.
Now came the fun part. I got some hair ornaments, like gold pins and combs, some with flowers. I’d seen similar ones in the pictures. I carefully placed them in her hair, trying to make it look balanced and pretty. My hands were shaking a bit, I have to admit.
I stepped back to look at my work. Not bad, not bad at all. It looked pretty close to what she wanted. Of course, I’m no pro, so it wasn’t perfect. But she seemed happy with it, and that’s what mattered.
Honestly, it was tougher than I thought it would be. But it was also kind of fun, and a good challenge. And hey, the look on my friend’s face when she saw herself in the mirror? Totally worth it.
The whole thing took me, like, two hours? Maybe more. My back was killing me by the end. And my fingers were all cramped from holding those bobby pins. But you know what? I’d probably do it again. It was a cool experience.
