Okay, so, I wanted to share my experience with finding and putting together bridesmaid outfits that are a bit different from the usual dresses. I went with a skirt and top combo, and let me tell you, it was a journey! But a fun one, for sure.
First off, I spent hours scrolling through websites, looking at all sorts of styles. I knew I wanted something elegant but also something that the girls would feel comfortable in. Something they could maybe even wear again.
I started by picking out the skirts. I was looking for something flowy and light, something that would look good on everyone. After browsing through countless options, I decided on these beautiful, A-line skirts that come down to about mid-calf. They have this lovely drape to them, you know? And the best part was, they came in sizes 4 all the way up to 30, so I didn’t have to worry about anybody not finding their size.
- Choosing the Tops:
This was a bit trickier. I wanted something that would match the skirts but also stand out on its own. I considered lace, beads, all sorts of embellishments. I mean, who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle, right? Eventually, I found these gorgeous tops with delicate lace detailing. They were simple enough to not clash with the skirts but had enough going on to feel special.
Putting It All Together
Once I had the skirts and tops picked out, it was time to see how they looked together. I ordered a few in different sizes so the bridesmaids could try them on. I wanted to make sure everyone felt good in what they were wearing.
The day we all got together to try everything on was so much fun! We had a little fashion show in my living room. Everyone loved the outfits! They were so excited that they weren’t just stuck in a dress they’d never wear again.
- The Final Touches:
To complete the look, we added some simple jewelry and some comfy but stylish shoes. The whole point was to be elegant but still able to dance the night away, you know?
And let me tell you, on the wedding day, they looked amazing. The skirts and tops flowed beautifully, and everyone was so comfortable. It was exactly the look I was going for. Plus, everyone got so many compliments. I kept hearing things like, “Where did you find those outfits?” and “I love that you did something different!”
So yeah, if you’re looking for bridesmaid outfits, don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Skirts and tops can be just as elegant as dresses, and they give everyone a bit more freedom to find something they truly love. It might take a bit more work to find the perfect pieces, but trust me, it’s worth it in the end.
