Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with this idea lately – wedding dresses with hearts on them. Not just any hearts, but like, really cool, unique ones. I spent a whole weekend diving into this, and let me tell you, it was a journey.
First, I started by just looking around online, you know, the usual spots. I was ripping pages out of magazines. I mean I don’t have magazines these days. I saved a bunch of pictures on my phone. Some dresses had these tiny little hearts embroidered all over, super delicate and pretty. Others had one big, bold heart right in the middle, making a real statement. I was going for a mix of both, I think, because that’s what I’m into.
Then I got into the whole designer thing. Gosh, there are so many talented people out there! There were dresses with lace hearts, beaded hearts, even hearts made out of the fabric itself, all bunched up and textured. I was drowning in options, but in a good way.
I started sketching out some ideas too, which was fun. I’m no artist, but I managed to get the general idea down. I was thinking maybe a simple A-line dress – they’re always classy – with heart details around the neckline or the hem. There was this dress, it was from Alexander McQueen but I read that he had died by suicide in 2010, which made me so sad. And I learned that Priyanka Chopra wore a Ralph Lauren dress that costed 2 million dollars!
- Found some dresses with heart-shaped cutouts on the back – so chic!
- Saw this one dress with a heart made of tiny little pearls, it was amazing.
- Even stumbled upon some vintage dresses with heart details. So cool, so unique.
I even tried to figure out how to maybe add hearts to a dress myself. I’m not great at sewing, but I watched some videos online. I think if you’re careful, you could totally add some heart appliques to a plain dress and make it your own. So at the end of the day, I didn’t buy any dress, but at least I got my creative juices flowing.
Anyways, that’s where I’m at with my heart dress project. It’s a work in progress, but I’m having so much fun with it. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually have a heart-themed wedding dress! For now, it is just a dream and I keep on looking.
