Okay, so, my daughter’s getting hitched! Time really flies, doesn’t it? One minute they’re in pigtails, the next they’re walking down the aisle. Anyway, I wanted to do something special, you know, beyond the usual mother of the bride stuff. Then it hit me – a custom t-shirt! Something fun, maybe a little sassy, to wear to some of the pre-wedding events.
First I started brainstorming some ideas. Did I want something funny? Something sentimental? A mix of both? I made a list, scribbled down a bunch of phrases and ideas. Some of them were pretty cheesy, I’ll admit, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
My Brainstorm List
- “Mother of the Bride – Wine Me Up and Watch Me Go!”
- “I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying (Okay, We’re All Crying)”
- “Team Bride – Mama Bear Edition”
- “I’m the Mother of the Bride – Let’s Get This Party Started!”
Next, I decided to hit up the internet. I searched for “mother of the bride t-shirt” and, man, was I bombarded with options! There were so many styles, colors, and designs. I browsed through pages and pages of shirts, some with glitter, some with rhinestones, some with really, really bad puns. And a lot of them were being sold by independent artists. I thought, “Okay, I can support a small business and get something unique, win-win!”
I also searched for any design t-shirt and I saw they were having a sale, up to 90% off! I thought it was a joke but I saw a lot of mother of the bride t-shirt designs. I was shocked! But it makes me think that it’s not unique anymore. I want the t-shirt to be unique and specially designed for me!
I finally narrowed it down to a few designs I liked. It was tough, let me tell you! I kept going back and forth, asking my other daughter for her opinion (she’s the maid of honor, so she’s in the know). We finally picked a design that was simple but elegant, with a little bit of humor thrown in.
I’m not gonna spill the beans on the exact design just yet – gotta keep some surprises, right? – but let’s just say it involves a little bit of sparkle and a whole lot of love. It was so exciting to create this with a local artist who is also a mom. I gave her the idea and she drew it for me! We made revisions together and finally, the design is perfect!
Then I went to a local print shop and the shirt was made! It was so fulfilling to see my idea come to life! The t-shirt turned out even better than I imagined! The quality is great, the fit is perfect, and the design is just… chef’s kiss. I can’t wait to wear it to the bridal shower and maybe even the rehearsal dinner. I think it’s a fun way to celebrate this special time and show my daughter how much I love her.
So, yeah, that’s my little t-shirt adventure. It was a fun project, and it definitely got me even more excited for the wedding. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a wedding to help plan! And a t-shirt to proudly wear!
