Okay, so, I’ve been dreaming about my wedding dress lately, and let me tell you, the image that keeps popping up in my head is a mermaid wedding dress with long sleeves. Sounds specific, right? But there’s something so captivating about that silhouette, and I had to give it a shot.
I started by browsing all over the internet, just looking at pictures, getting a feel for what’s out there. And wow, there are so many variations! Some had this delicate lace all over, while others were more sleek and modern. I saved a bunch of photos that caught my eye – a halter neck one with some pretty embroidery, a few with different lace patterns on the sleeves, that kind of thing.
Then, I hit up a few local bridal shops. I tried on a strapless mermaid dress first, just to see if the basic shape was right. It was okay, but not quite it, you know?
- The first dress was a classic strapless.
- Then I tried an off-the-shoulder style.
- But then the shop assistant brought out a dress.
The third dress was a mermaid dress with long sleeves. It was like she read my mind! The sleeves were made of this gorgeous lace, and it fit like a glove. I felt so elegant, like I was stepping out of a vintage movie or something. Seriously, it gave me chills.
I didn’t buy it right then and there. I wanted to think about it, maybe try on a few more. But that dress, that’s the one I keep coming back to. There was another one, a Val Stefani D8331 Celeste, that was a similar style, but in crepe and net. It had a detachable long sleeve jacket, which was kind of cool. I could have the long-sleeved look for the ceremony and then go strapless for the party. Options!
What I Learned
Trying on that long-sleeved mermaid dress really solidified it for me. That’s the vibe I’m going for. Now, it’s just a matter of finding the one, you know? The one that makes me feel like the best, most beautiful version of myself. And who knows, maybe that detachable jacket thing is the way to go. More research is needed, but I’m excited about it!
