Okay, so, my son’s getting married! Super exciting, right? But, oh boy, the stress of finding the right outfit. I wanted something classy, something that wouldn’t make me look like I was trying too hard, you know? And my daughter-in-law-to-be, she’s a sweetheart, suggested I go with a dusty blue. Said it’s in this season, complements the wedding colors, all that jazz.
First things first, I started looking around. I hit up a few local shops. Tried on a bunch of dresses. Some were too sparkly, some were too… motherly, if you catch my drift. I even tried on a few that looked like they belonged on a teenager! I mean, come on!
Then I started searching online. And I went through a few places, there were so many options, it was overwhelming, to be honest. And I started reading reviews, checking out what other moms were wearing. Lots of people seemed to be going for jewel tones, like emerald or burgundy. Pretty, but just not me.
Looking for something special
I wanted something that felt special. The wedding is at the end of summer, so I was thinking maybe something with a bit of a flow, not too heavy. I looked up more on this dusty blue color, and apparently, it works great with those jewel tones, too. Good to know.
So, I decided I would go with custom-made. Yeah, a little extra, but I figured, why not? It’s my son’s wedding!
- Decided on the color: Dusty blue, it is!
- Looked in stores: Tried on a few, not quite right.
- Searched online: Lots of options, very overwhelming.
- Custom-made: Seemed like the best way to get exactly what I wanted.
I found a place that does custom dresses. They had some great reviews, and their prices weren’t too crazy. I sent them a few pictures of dresses I liked, and we talked about the fabric, the length, the sleeves, everything. They were super helpful, answered all my questions. Even made some suggestions I hadn’t thought of.
It took a few weeks, but they finally finished the dress. And let me tell you, it’s perfect! It’s flowy, it’s elegant, and it’s definitely dusty blue. I feel comfortable in it, and I think it’ll look great in the photos.
So, yeah, that’s my story. I think in the end, it was a good choice to choose a custom-made dress. It was a little extra, but worth it. And most importantly I think my son and his bride will love it.
