So, I had this friend who was getting hitched, and we wanted to throw her a bachelorette party. We got to thinking about games to play, and one idea that came up was testing how well the bride-to-be knew her future husband. It sounded like a blast, so I started digging around for ideas.
First thing I did was hit up Pinterest, because that’s where all the fun party stuff is, right? I searched for “How well do you know the groom questions” and found tons of ideas. One that kept popping up was to interview the groom beforehand and ask him a bunch of questions about himself. Then, at the party, quiz the bride and see if she gets them right.
I thought this was great! I started to jot down some potential questions. I figured we needed, like, 20 or so to make it interesting. Stuff like:
- “What’s his favorite food?”
- “What’s his biggest pet peeve?”
- “Where did they go on their first date?”
Then I went a little deeper, cause some of the ideas I saw were pretty basic. So I added some like:
- “What’s his dream vacation spot?”
- “What’s something he’s really proud of?”
- “What’s his favorite way to spend a weekend?”
I even saw this other idea, which I thought was hilarious. You get a life-sized cardboard cutout of the groom. You can even dress it up! They said something about using it for photo ops and stuff. I didn’t end up doing that, but man, it sounded fun!
Anyway, back to the questions. Once I had a good list, I called up the groom, Dylan, and ran the questions by him. He was a good sport about it and gave me all the answers. Some of them were pretty funny, I gotta say.
Then came the party. We got everyone together, ordered some food, and broke out the drinks. When it was time for the game, I explained the rules, and we started grilling the bride. She was laughing so hard, and it was fun to see how well she knew Dylan. It was definitely a highlight of the night.
There was also this other game suggestion I saw, kind of like Jeopardy but wedding-themed. It involved mustaches and lips or something to represent the bride and groom. I didn’t try that one either, but maybe next time. The question game was a big enough hit on its own! This worked out pretty well, it was a lot of laughs, and I think it made the bride feel even more excited to marry her man. Definitely recommend this one if you’re planning a bachelorette party!
