Okay, so, my son’s getting hitched! Super exciting, right? But man, oh man, finding the right dress has been a journey. I decided to go with gray, it is a nice color, you know, not too flashy but still elegant. I started this whole dress hunt online, just browsing through different shops to get an idea of what’s out there.
First, I checked out Nordstrom’s website. They had a bunch of gray dresses, and I liked that they offered free shipping and returns. That takes some of the pressure off, you know? If it doesn’t fit, you are not stuck with it. I spent a good couple of hours scrolling through their options, saved a few that caught my eye, but nothing really screamed “this is it!” yet.
Then I moved on to Macy’s. They always have a huge selection of, well, everything. They did have some nice mother of the groom dresses, including some gray ones. I saw some tea-length dresses that looked pretty cute, and a few longer, more formal gowns that were tempting. I added a couple to my virtual cart, just to keep track of them, but I still wasn’t completely sold.
Next up was Dillard’s. Their website was easy enough to navigate, and I found some more gray dresses there. They had a mix of styles, some simple, some with more bling. I took some time to read the reviews on a few of the dresses. Gotta see what other moms are saying, right? Still, nothing really grabbed me.
I even looked at Saks OFF 5TH, thinking maybe I could snag a designer dress for a good price. They did have some beautiful gray dresses, but even with the discount, they were still pretty pricey. I mean, I want to look nice, but I also don’t want to spend a fortune, you know? This isn’t MY wedding, after all.
More Options
I also browsed through some online shops like Amazon and found some other options, including a dress from Ever-Pretty for $85.99 with free shipping. I read through the reviews, and they seemed mostly positive. This one is definitely a contender!
And, of course, I had to check out Etsy. I love supporting small businesses and handmade stuff. I found a few shops that had some gorgeous gray dresses. Some were custom-made, which is really cool, but also a bit more expensive. I saw one dress for $200, another for $400, and even a cute hi-low dress for around $104.82. These are all options, but the price is a little steep for me.
Narrowing It Down
So, after all that searching, I’ve narrowed it down to a few dresses. I made a list of pros and cons for each one, considering the price, the style, the reviews, and how I think I’ll feel wearing it. This has been a lot more work than I thought it would be! But, it is for my son’s wedding, so of course, I want to look my best.
- Lots of Choices: I found so many different styles of gray dresses, from simple to fancy, short to long.
- Online Shopping is Convenient: I could browse and compare dresses from different stores without leaving my house.
- Prices Vary: I saw dresses ranging from under a hundred bucks to several hundred.
- Reviews are Helpful: It was great to read what other customers thought about the dresses.
I’m going to sleep on it and maybe try on a few of the dresses I ordered online. Hopefully, I’ll make a decision soon! Wish me luck!
