All simple and plain, we was.
Pink is a color, that’s for sure. Seen it on them flowers, them roses and such. Always thought it was a pretty color, just not for a wedding, you know? But these young brides, they like it. How Many Dresses Is Too Many?
Now, these girls, they try on a whole heap of dresses before they pick one. More dresses than I’ve seen in my whole life! They say there ain’t no right number. Just try ’em on ’til you find the one you like. Four, five, six, seven dresses… maybe even ten! Can you imagine? Ten dresses! Back in my day, you were lucky to have one good dress, let alone ten! No matter what you love, I think it’s ok.
They say some girls even wear three dresses on their wedding day! Three! One for the church, one for the party, and maybe one for later, I don’t know. Sounds like a lot of fuss to me, but they like it. Them Instagram girls, they do it all the time, I hear. Always changing their clothes, those ones. They just love those pink wedding dresses.
Well, I guess if it makes ’em happy, that’s all that matters. A pink wedding dress for bridesmaid, who would’ve thought? Not me, that’s for sure. But like I said, times are a-changin’. These young folks, they got their own ways. And if they want to wear pink, then let ’em wear pink. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody, I suppose. What Else Do They Like
These girls like them long dresses, short dresses, dresses with them sparkly things all over ’em. I even saw one with feathers! Feathers, I tell you! Looked like a big bird. But she liked it, and that’s what matters, I guess. They got all sorts of names for them dresses too. A-line, mermaid, ball gown… sounds like somethin’ out of a fairytale. And the colors! Not just pink. They got blue, green, purple… every color you can think of. And they mix ’em together too! One girl might wear pink, the other might wear blue. It’s a rainbow wedding, they say.
And don’t even get me started on the shoes! High heels, sparkly shoes, shoes with them straps that go all the way up your leg… My feet hurt just lookin’ at ’em. But they love ’em. They say it makes ’em feel like princesses. Well, I guess every girl wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day, even if it means wearin’ them torture devices on her feet. It is important that your bridesmaid dresses look great, though.
It’s All About Being Happy
I still think a simple white dress is best, but what do I know? I’m just an old lady. These young’uns, they know what they want. And if they want a pink wedding dress for bridesmaid, then that’s what they should have. It’s their day, after all. They should be happy. And if a pink dress makes ’em happy, then so be it. Just gotta make sure they don’t trip on them long dresses, that’s all I’m sayin’. And maybe keep a pair of them comfy shoes handy, just in case those high heels start to pinch. You don’t want no blisters on your wedding day, that’s for sure!
Yep, a pink wedding dress. It’s a new world, that’s for sure. But as long as them girls are happy, that’s all that really matters in the end, ain’t it?
