Oh, my dear, my son is getting hitched! Time flies, ain’t it? Now, the big question is, what’s his old man gonna wear? Father of the groom clothes, that’s the key word here. It’s a big day, gotta look decent, you know?
Finding the Right Outfit
Gotta figure out what kinda shindig this is gonna be. If it’s one of them fancy, black-tie things, then I guess I gotta squeeze into a tuxedo. Black tie, bow tie, all that jazz. Makes a fella feel like a penguin, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do, right? This is important for father of the groom clothes.
If it’s a bit less fancy, like semi-formal, they call it, then a good suit will do. Got a nice blue one in the closet, I think. Maybe I’ll wear that. Need a tie, though. Hope I can still tie one of them things.
And if it’s one of them casual weddings, maybe on a beach or somethin’, well, then I can loosen up a bit. Maybe some nice slacks and a shirt. Still gotta look presentable, though. Can’t be lookin’ like a scarecrow at my own son’s wedding, can I?
Suit or Tuxedo?
Now, if my boy’s wearin’ a suit, then I reckon I should wear a suit, too. Don’t wanna be showin’ him up, you know? It’s his day, not mine. If I waltz in there in a tuxedo and he’s in a suit, I’ll look like I’m tryin’ too hard. Gotta keep it balanced, like they say. Father of the groom clothes are not easy to choose.
Colors and Such
- Navy
- Charcoal
- Grey
- Black
I ain’t wearin’ no bright colors. I ain’t no spring chicken. I’ll stick to the basics. Dark blue, maybe. Or that grey one I got. Black’s always a safe bet, I suppose. Nothin’ too flashy. I heard some fellas wearin’ charcoal. What’s that? Sounds like somethin’ you’d throw on the grill. Anyway, dark colors are the way to go, I reckon. They are good for father of the groom clothes.
What the Other Folks Wear
They say the father of the groom, that’s me, should kinda match the groomsmen. You know, the young fellas standin’ up there with my boy. Makes sense, I guess. We’re all part of the same team, so to speak. I don’t mind that. As long as I don’t have to wear no silly hat or somethin’.
Important Day, Gotta Look Good
My son, he’s gonna be all nervous and excited. And his bride, she’s gonna be beautiful, I’m sure. I gotta make ’em proud. Gotta show ’em that their old man can still clean up nice. It’s a big day for them, and I wanna be a part of it, lookin’ my best. I need to find good father of the groom clothes.
Don’t Wear White, They Say
I heard you ain’t supposed to wear white to a wedding. That’s for the bride, I guess. Makes sense. She’s the star of the show. I wouldn’t wear white anyway. Stains too easy. I’d probably spill somethin’ on it before I even got to the church.
Shoes and Socks
Gotta have good shoes, too. Can’t be wearin’ them old work boots. I got a pair of black dress shoes somewhere. Hope they still fit. Might need to shine ’em up a bit. And socks, gotta wear socks. Black ones, I suppose. Or maybe them argyle ones. Are they still in style? I don’t know.
Gettin’ it All Together
Well, I better start lookin’ for somethin’ to wear. Don’t wanna wait till the last minute. Gotta try stuff on, make sure it fits. Maybe I’ll take my wife with me. She’s got a good eye for these things. She always knows what looks good on me. It is important to find proper father of the groom clothes.
It’s Gonna Be a Great Day
I’m so happy for my boy. He’s found himself a good woman. They’re gonna have a wonderful life together, I just know it. And I’m gonna be there, watchin’ them start their journey, lookin’ like a proper father of the groom, in my best duds. It’s gonna be a great day.
I just need find the clothes for the father of the groom clothes.
