And shoes, gotta have pretty shoes. Maybe some comfy ones for dancin’ later, too. Then there is the groom, he needs a suit. And the bridesmaids, they need dresses, too. Same color, you know, so they all match. Oh, and the flower girl! She needs a cute little dress, too!

Stuff to Make it Pretty
Now, you gotta make the place look nice. Flowers! Lots of flowers. On the tables, at the front, everywhere! And maybe some of them stringy lights, them twinkle ones. They make everything look magical. You can get some of them fancy chair covers, too. And maybe them little sparkly things to throw when they walk out after they say “I do”. We used to throw rice, but them little popper things are nice. What do they call those things? Bubbles! Those things that you blow with. Or sparklers!

Stuff to Eat and Drink
Now, can’t have a weddin’ without food, can ya? Gotta have a big ol’ cake. Three layers at least! And food, lots of food. Maybe a ham, maybe some of them little sandwiches. And punch! Gotta have punch. Don’t forget the drinks, folks get thirsty dancin’ and carryin’ on. And make sure they have enough to eat. Folks talk, you know. They will say something if the food is bad. They will also say something if the cake ain’t good. So make sure it is good cake.
- Wedding cake – Big and beautiful, with lots of layers!
- Food – Enough for everyone, and then some! Ham, little sandwiches, salads… whatever they like these days!

- Plates – Gotta have somethin’ to eat off of!
- Cups – For the drinks!
- Forks and spoons – Can’t eat with your hands, not at a weddin’!
- Ice – To keep the drinks cold. Don’t want to drink warm water.
Stuff Just in Case
Now, there’s always somethin’ that goes wrong, ain’t that right? So you gotta be prepared. Like a little sewin’ kit, in case a button pops off or somethin’. And some pain relievers, for headaches. And some band-aids, in case someone gets a blister from dancin’. And always have some extra money on you, just in case. Someone always forgets somethin’. Maybe the bride’s momma forgets her somethin’ blue. The 30/5 rule? I guess they mean things take a long time on wedding day. Don’t know why, but they do. Always do.

Other Stuff
Don’t forget the invitations! Gotta let folks know when and where the weddin’ is. And thank you cards, for after the weddin’. Gotta thank folks for the gifts. And a guest book, so folks can write their names and a little somethin’ nice. And music! Gotta have music for dancin’. And a photographer, to take pictures of everyone lookin’ their best.
