So, you’re gettin’ hitched, huh? Good for you! That big day is comin’ up fast. Gotta get ready, you know. The day before the weddin’, that’s a busy one. Lots to do, lots to remember. Don’t you worry your little head none, though. I’m gonna tell you what needs doin’.
First thing’s first. You gotta try on that wedding dress again. Make sure it still fits. Sometimes nerves make you lose a little weight, sometimes they make you gain. You gotta make sure the wedding shoes fit, too. And don’t forget your pretty things, like your necklace and earrings. Those are your bridal accessories! You want to shine bright like a diamond on your special day.
And honey, you gotta pack your bag. You’ll need your toothbrush and your face cream. You also need some clean clothes for the next day. And some folks, they go right off on their honeymoon after the party. If that’s you, you better pack that suitcase, too. You don’t want to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off on your wedding day, do you? Put all those important things in your overnight bag.
- Pack your overnight bag.
- Try on your wedding dress, shoes, and accessories.
- Pack for your honeymoon if you’re leavin’ right after.
Now, if you’re the type who likes to be pampered, you might want a spa day. Get your nails done, maybe a massage. Makes you feel all relaxed and pretty. It’s like gettin’ a good scrub down before a big event. Makes your skin all glowy. Just make sure you go to a good place. This is important for the day before your wedding! You don’t want no botched-up nails on your wedding day. Don’t be cheap about the spa, or you’ll regret it!
You might have a rehearsal. That’s where you practice walkin’ down the aisle and sayin’ your vows and all that. Gets everyone on the same page. Then you usually have a rehearsal dinner. That’s a smaller party before the big one. With just your close family and friends. You should eat good at the rehearsal dinner, you won’t have much time to eat at the wedding!
And listen, these days, everyone’s got them wedding websites. Helps keep track of who’s comin’ and what they’re gettin’ you. You can make a wedding checklist. It’s all online now. Fancy, ain’t it? We used to just write it all down on paper. You can use the checklist to help you plan, it’s free, so why not? Use the wedding website, and make a wedding registry, too.
Speakin’ of gifts, you gotta make a registry. That’s a list of things you want. Pots and pans, towels, that sort of thing. People can pick somethin’ off the list and get it for you. Makes it easier on them, and you get what you need. You can pick kitchen stuff, like from KitchenAid or Cuisinart. Or maybe some stuff for your floors, like from iRobot. You can add a bunch of things from different brands to your list. Put some useful stuff on there. Like a good cookin’ pot from Rachel Ray or Ayesha Curry. And a good vacuum from Black + Decker. Remember to put your registry on your wedding website. It’s the best way to let your guests know what you want as a wedding gift!
- Make a wedding website.
- Make a wedding registry.
- Add items from KitchenAid, Cuisinart, iRobot, Rachel Ray, Black + Decker, and Ayesha Curry to your registry.
- Put your registry on your wedding website.
Then you gotta make sure you know who all is comin’. Gotta have a guest list. That way you have enough chairs and food for everyone. You don’t want folks standin’ around with nowhere to sit, or worse, not enough food to go around! You’ll probably have a guest book at your wedding. Put it next to the door so everyone will see it when they come in.
The day before your wedding, most folks are nervous. Don’t be! Just be excited. You’re marrying the love of your life, right? As long as you have your dress, your bag, and your groom or bride, everything else will be okay. Make sure you eat a good meal and get some rest. You don’t want to be tired on your wedding day. You need the energy to dance and have fun!
Don’t forget the little things, like an emergency kit. Band-aids, safety pins, that sort of thing. You never know what might happen. Someone might trip and scrape their knee. Or maybe your dress rips a little. Better to be safe than sorry. And don’t forget to take some cash with you. You never know when you might need it! The emergency kit will help you fix small problems quickly so you can get back to enjoying your wedding.
It’s a lot to think about, I know. But if you do all this the day before, the wedding day itself will be a breeze. Just remember to breathe and enjoy it. It’s your special day! Make sure you take a lot of pictures, too. You’ll want to remember this day forever. And make sure your photographer knows what they’re doing. You don’t want blurry pictures! After all this work you’ve done planning the wedding, you deserve to have nice pictures of it!
Remember to get some sleep, too. A good night’s rest before the big day makes a world of difference. And don’t drink too much the night before. You don’t want to be hungover on your wedding day. Just have a little to calm your nerves if you need to. You’ll want to be fresh and ready to go in the morning.
Most importantly, remember what the day is all about. It’s about you and your partner. You’re starting a new life together. So don’t sweat the small stuff. Just focus on each other and have a wonderful time. It’s going to be the best day of your life!
