Alright, so you’re gettin’ hitched, huh? And you gotta figure out what music them young’uns gonna walk down the aisle to. Big day, big decisions, I get it. Don’t you worry none, we’ll sort this out. It ain’t rocket science, even this old lady can figure it out. It’s just pickin’ some tunes, not plantin’ corn.
First thing’s first, you gotta think about how long that aisle is. Is it a short little thing, or a long, fancy one like in them movies? That matters, see? ‘Cause if it’s short, maybe one song is enough for everybody. But if it’s long, you might need different songs for the bridesmaids and then for you. You don’t want them girls tripping over their own feet ‘cause the music’s too fast or too slow.
Now, for them little tykes, the ring bearer and the flower girl, somethin’ sweet and simple is good. Like that “Over the Rainbow” song. Everybody knows it, and it makes folks smile. Kids like it, too. They can waddle down the aisle to it, cute as buttons.
But for the bridesmaids, well, you gotta spice it up a bit. These girls are your best friends, your sisters, maybe even your cousins. They need somethin’ with a little pep in its step. That “Crazy in Love” song by that Beyoncé girl? That’s a good one. Makes you wanna dance, makes you wanna clap. Gets the party started, you know?
- Think about the kind of wedding you’re havin’. Is it fancy or casual? Outside or inside? All that stuff matters when you’re pickin’ music.
- Don’t just pick a song ’cause it’s popular. Pick somethin’ that means somethin’ to you and your girls. Maybe it’s a song you all used to listen to back in high school. Or maybe it’s a song that just makes you feel good.
- Time it! Get somebody to walk down the aisle while you time ’em. You don’t want the song to end before they get to the front, or drag on forever after they’re already standin’ there. That’d be awkward, wouldn’t it?
And listen, don’t let nobody tell you what you can and can’t do. It’s your wedding, you do what you want. If you wanna play polka music while your bridesmaids walk down the aisle, you go right ahead. If you wanna play heavy metal, that’s your business. Don’t let nobody boss you around. It’s your day, your way.
But, you know, a little bit of advice from an old lady? Keep it classy. You don’t want folks rememberin’ your wedding for the wrong reasons. You want ’em to remember how beautiful you looked, how happy you were, and how much fun everybody had. And the music, well, that’s a big part of it. It sets the mood, you see? Like when you’re bakin’ a pie, the ingredients gotta be just right.
So, take your time, listen to some songs, and pick somethin’ that feels right. And don’t stress too much about it. It’s just music, after all. The important thing is that you’re gettin’ married to the person you love. That’s what really matters. The rest is just gravy, as they say. Though, good gravy is important too, ain’t it? Just like good music.
Now, go on and find them perfect songs. And have a wonderful wedding. I’m sure it’ll be beautiful. Just remember to breathe and enjoy it. It goes by faster than you think. And don’t forget to invite me to the reception! I love a good piece of cake.
So, whether it’s some fancy classical tune or somethin’ fun and modern, make sure it fits your girls and your big day. After all, it’s their moment to shine too, right before you walk down and steal the show, of course! Just kidding! Kind of.
