Well, hey there everyone! Gather ’round, gather ’round, let me tell ya a thing or two about these young’uns gettin’ hitched today. My boy, bless his heart, he finally found himself a good woman. And let me tell ya, that ain’t always easy these days.
Parents of the Groom Wedding Speech: A Mother’s Perspective
You know, raisin’ that boy, it was somethin’ else. A whole lotta scraped knees and muddy shoes, I tell ya. He was always a handful, that one. Always climbin’ trees, gettin’ into mischief. I remember this one time, he was maybe, oh, I don’t know, seven or eight, and he decided he wanted to build a fort in the backyard. Not just any fort, mind you, a real fort. He dragged out all my good blankets, some old wood from the shed, and even tried to use my good pots and pans for somethin’ or other. Lord, the mess he made! But, ya know, he was so proud of it. And that’s my boy all over. Always put his heart into everything he does. That’s how he is with his work, and now, that’s how he is with this gal he’s marrying today.
Speaking of this girl, she’s somethin’ special. When he first brought her home, I was a little… well, you know, a mama bear’s gotta be protective. But she just charmed the pants off me, right from the get-go. Sweet as pie, that girl. And she loves my boy, I can see it in her eyes. That’s all that matters to me. She makes him laugh, and he makes her laugh. They fit together like, well, like two peas in a pod, I guess you could say. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner for our son, we really couldn’t.
And to my son, well, I’m just so proud of the man he has become. He’s a good man. A hard-working man. A kind man. He’s gonna be a good husband, I just know it. He’s had his ups and downs, like we all do, but he always comes out on top. He’s a fighter, that one, and he’ll always fight for what he loves. And he loves her, you can see it clear as day. Remember to always cherish her, son. Always respect her. Always support her. Marriage ain’t always easy, you know. There’ll be good times and bad times. But if you stick together, you can get through anything.
- Always remember to listen to each other.
- Always remember to be patient with each other.
- And always remember to say “I love you” every single day.
