Alright, alright, let’s talk about them weddin’ suits for the young fellas gettin’ hitched, the best ones for 2020, they say. Don’t know much about this 2020, but a suit’s a suit, ain’t it? Gotta look spiffy for the missus, that’s for sure.
Now, I seen all sorts of suits in my day, from plain ol’ black to some real wild colors. The young’uns these days, they like all them fancy things. But listen here, a good suit, it’s gotta be somethin’ that makes ya look like a man, not some peacock.
Colors and Such
They talk about dark green now, like the color of them trees over yonder. Sounds odd to me, but who am I to judge? Black’s always been a good choice, makes ya look sharp and put together. White too, if you’re feelin’ fancy, but that’s more for them tuxedo fellas. Blue, like the sky on a clear day, that’s nice too. And gray, like a cloudy mornin’, that’s alright. Just stay away from them bright, flashy colors, unless you wanna look like a clown. Them pink and flowery suits? Tasteless, I tell ya, just plain tasteless. Makes a man look like a fool.
- Black: Can’t go wrong with black, makes ya look like a real gentleman.
- White: Only if you’re wearin’ a tuxedo, otherwise it’s just silly.
- Blue: Navy blue or somethin’ like that, nice and respectable.
- Gray: Mid-gray, charcoal, them colors are good too.
The Stuff the Suit’s Made Of
Now, don’t go buyin’ no cheap suit made of that shiny stuff. You want wool, somethin’ that feels good and hangs right. They got names for it, like worsted and sharkskin, sounds fancy, but it just means it’s good quality. Mohair too, that’s nice and soft. A good wool suit, it’ll last ya a long time, even if you gain a few pounds from eatin’ all that weddin’ cake.
Buttons and Such
Two buttons, that’s what most fellas wear. It’s simple, it’s classic, it works. Some fellas, they like three buttons, or them double-breasted ones, but that’s just showin’ off, if you ask me. Stick to two buttons, you’ll look just fine. And make sure them buttons ain’t fallin’ off, that’s just embarrassing.
The Fit is Important
Don’t buy no suit that’s too big or too small. It’s gotta fit ya right, like it was made just for you. Go to a store, try it on, walk around in it. Can you move your arms? Can you sit down without feelin’ like you’re gonna bust a seam? If it don’t fit, don’t buy it. And get it tailored, if you need to. A good tailor, they can make even a cheap suit look good. But start with a good suit, that’s the key. And stand up straight, shoulders back, like your mama taught ya.
Trends and Fads
They say trends are changin’, white suits, blue suits, even pink suits, they say it will be next decade fashion. I seen a lot of trends come and go in my time. Most of ’em are just silly. A good suit, it’s timeless. It don’t matter what year it is, a good suit will always look good. Don’t worry about what them fancy magazines say. Just find a suit that fits ya, that makes ya feel good, and that makes ya look like a man ready to get married. That’s what matters.
So there ya have it, my advice on weddin’ suits. Take it or leave it, I don’t care. But if you listen to this old woman, you’ll look just fine on your weddin’ day. Now go on, get outta here, and good luck to ya.
Remember, it’s your wedding you should wear what you want! If you want to wear pink or floral or whatever, you can, it’s your day!
But if you don’t know what to wear, stick to the classic stuff. You can’t go wrong. That’s all there is to it.
