Alright, let’s gab about these mint bridesmaid dresses, ya hear? I ain’t no fancy dress expert, but I know what looks good on a gal, and mint… well, it’s purdy darn nice.
What in the world is a mint bridesmaid dress anyway?
Now, don’t go thinkin’ it’s a dress made outta that mint stuff you grow in your garden. No sirree! It’s a color, a light greeny-blue kinda thing, like that fancy toothpaste, ya know? It’s supposed to make all the gals standin’ up there with the bride look all fresh and spiffy.
Why all the fuss about these minty things?
- Well, first off, they say it looks good on just about everybody. Fat, skinny, tall, short… mint don’t care. That’s what they told me, anyway. I seen some gals lookin’ like stuffed sausages in ‘em, but mostly they look alright.
- Second, it’s a happy color. Makes ya think of spring and flowers and all that lovey-dovey stuff. Weddings are supposed to be happy, right? So, a happy color dress makes sense, I guess.
- And third, folks say it’s easy to match. You can get shoes and flowers and whatnot to go with it without too much head-scratchin’. That’s what my niece told me when she was gettin’ hitched. She had them mint dresses, and they did look kinda nice with them pink roses.
Where do ya even find these mint dresses?
Well, you can go to them fancy dress shops, the ones with the snooty sales ladies. But them places charge an arm and a leg! I heard you can even find ‘em online, on somethin’ called “eBay”. My grandson showed me. Said they got all sorts of stuff there, even dresses! Can ya believe it? Dresses on a computer! Who’d a thunk it?
What kinds of mint dresses are we talkin’ about?
Oh, honey, there’s all kinds! Long ones, short ones, flowy ones, tight ones… you name it. They got them long flowy ones that make ya look like a princess, or them short sassy ones that are good for dancin’. And they got all sorts of fancy names for the styles too, like “A-line” and “mermaid”. Sounds fishy to me, but hey, if it makes the girls happy, who am I to judge?
Big gals, little gals… can they all wear mint?
Like I said before, they say mint is for everyone. But let’s be honest, some dresses just ain’t made for some bodies, ya know? But they make these things called “plus size” dresses now. So, even if you got a little extra somethin’ somethin’, you can still rock a mint dress. And for the little bitty gals? Well, they look good in just about anythin’, bless their hearts.
Mix and match, they say? What’s that all about?
So, this is a newfangled thing, apparently. Instead of makin’ all the girls wear the exact same dress, you let ‘em pick different styles, as long as they’re all the same color, that minty green. I guess it makes sense. Not everyone looks good in the same thing, right? My oldest gal, she’s got hips you could hang a lantern on, and the youngest is skinny as a rail. Different dresses for different bodies, that’s what I say!
How much do these things cost, anyway?
Now, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? Like I said, them fancy shops will charge ya a pretty penny. But if you’re smart, you can find a deal. Maybe check out them online places, or wait for a sale. My neighbor’s girl got hers on clearance, and it looked just as good as the ones that cost a whole paycheck. You gotta be a savvy shopper, that’s for sure.
So, what’s the bottom line on mint bridesmaid dresses?
Well, they’re pretty, they’re happy, and they’re supposed to make everyone look good. But don’t go breakin’ the bank for ‘em. And remember, the most important thing is that the bride is happy. If she wants mint, then you go get yourself a mint dress and smile pretty for the pictures. That’s what bein’ a good bridesmaid is all about, ain’t it?
And one more thing, make sure you can breathe in that dress! I seen girls wearin’ dresses so tight they looked like they were gonna pop! Comfort is important too, ya hear?
